Free fun at Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Expo

The City of Lakewood’s annual Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Expo will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Civic Center parking lot at Del Amo and Clark.

This free event is a chance for families and community members to meet first responders who serve their community and learn about the latest in emergency preparedness.

Kids will also enjoy the family fun zone withan array of activities.

The event includes:

  • Exciting demonstrations by L.A. County Sheriff's Department and L.A. County Fire Department, including search-and-rescue dogs.
  • An up-close look at the Sheriff’s Department and Fire Department vehicles, including fire trucks and sheriff's patrol cars, and a chance to meet the pilot of and see Lakewood's Sky Knight helicopter. 
  • Booths offering tips to prepare your homes and pets for an emergency.
  • Crime prevention strategies for home and auto security.
