Independence Day closure and service changes

Lakewood City Hall will be closed Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

Lakewood's trash contractor, EDCO, will now also be closed on the Fourth of July. 

July 1-3 service reminders

  • Normal trash pickup, sweeping and sweeping-related enforcement for Monday through Wednesday, July 1-3.

July 4-5 service changes

  • No trash pickup on July 4; collection will be delayed one day for July 4-5 (Thursday and Friday) customers only.
  • Thursday’s trash will be picked up on Friday, July 5, and Friday’s on Saturday, July 6.
  • No street sweeping, makeup sweep or sweeping-related parking enforcement in residential areas on July 4 and 5. 
  • Tickets will still be issued for parking in red zones, crosswalks, blocking sidewalks and other violations of the vehicle code on July 4 and 5.
  • No DASH transit service available on July 4.

Street sweepers will provide extra attention the week after Independence Day if needed on particular blocks.

Parking enforcement

There will be NO street sweeping-related parking enforcement on Thursday or Friday, July 4-5.

Parking enforcement will continue for non-street-sweeping related violations, such as parking in red zones or blocking sidewalks.
